Lesson 07
“When we accept God’s gift what do we expect from Him?”
If you believe in Hazrat Isa (Jesus) what would you expect from Him? ‘Having faith’ is being discussed in Lesson-Seven : When we accept Hazrat Isa (Jesus), we receive forgiveness of our sins. We have a personal relationship with God. We have peace in our hearts and a complete change takes place in our lives. This transformation in our lives is reflected in all what each one of us does and in how each one of us leads one’s life. We can understand this from the following verses from the Quran and the Bible :
Prophetic Books
Ezekiel 36 : 26 – 27 : I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
Al- Zabur (Psalm)
Chapter 119 verse 162 – 165 : I rejoice at Your word, As one who finds great treasure. . . . But I love Your law. Seven times a day I praise You,
Because of Your righteous judgments. Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble.
Al-Injeel
John 1 : 12 – 13 : But as many as received Him (Messiah; Word of God or Kalematullah), to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Al-Quran
Surah 40. Ghafir (Mumin) (The Believer, The Forgiver (god)) verse 2 – 3 : Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge,- Who forgiveth sin, accepteth repentance, is strict in punishment,
God is Omni-potent and He can fulfill all we need. He forgives us our wrongs and accepts us just as we are. But if we do turn to Him we come under judgment, which is very hard.
We need to have the faith that forgetting our salvation we have to be dependent on God’s help. God chose one Holy Person so that He forgive us our sins and grant us eternal life. If you can realize that you are a sinner and that you are unable to receive God’s forgiveness then by putting your faith in Hazrat Isa (Jesus) you can receive God’s forgiveness. Hazrat Isa said that a healthy man does not need a physician, but a sick man does. I have come not for the so called righteous, but I have come to save sinners.
Do you think you are a sinner? If so, Hazrat Isa (Jesus) came to this world to save you. He has forgiven all our past sins and He will help us to resist any temptation to sin in the future.
Al- Zabur (Psalm)
Chapter 32 verse 5 : I acknowledged my sin to You (God), And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.
Al-Injeel
Romans 5 : 8 – 9 : But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
Ephesians 2 : 1 – 10 : And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
God helps us to relate to Him personally and He also is pleased to give us all godly gifts.
Prophetic Books
Jeremiah 31 : 33 – 34 : . . . I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
Al-Injeel
Romans 8 : 13 – 15 : For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Hebrews 10 : 12 – 14 : But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, . . . For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
1 John 3 : 4 – 6 : Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him
Hazrat Isa (Jesus) grants us the assurance of living with God in heaven having received in our hearts true peace and eternal life.
Al- Zabur (Psalm)
Chapter 4 verse 8 : I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
Al-Injeel
John 6 : 47 : Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.
John 14 : 27 : Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Romans 5 : 1 – 2 : Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have[a] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Philippians 4 : 6 – 7 : Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
The new love that we have for God because of Hazrat Isa (Jesus) and our longing for life according to His will produce in us hatred towards our past sinful life and also gives us the strength to forsake them.
2 Corinthians 5 : 14 – 18 : For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ,…
Colossians 3 : 9 – 10 : Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
If you can realize that you are a sinner in the light of the learning from the Quran and the Bible discussed in this lesson, that God sent Hazrat Isa (Jesus) into the world to save you from your sin who has completed His work for salvation by sacrificing His own life on the cross as a ransom-price for the salvation please put your trust on Him and accept the redemption from sin and offer the following prayer.
Prayer
“O God, creator of the universe, I come before you in all my hearts devotion and reverence. I bring before you all evil things, shortcomings sins of my past life. I dare to come to you because I know that you love me. I have believed in my heart in your Word and your Spirit and the Isa (Jesus), who has taken upon Him on the cross my punishment for sin and sacrificed his life as the price for my redemption and have resurrected from the dead and is now seating at your right and also intercedes for me.
Now I submit myself before you through Hazrat Isa (Jesus). I believe that you will grant me eternal life and true peace in my heart. Grant me the heart that will hate sin and live in obedience to you. I thank you, God, for hearing my prayer because I pray in the name of Hazrat Isa (Jesus). Amen.”
